Workstation Setup – Managing DSE Safety in theWorkplace

This course is designed to equip workers with the knowledge and skills to confidently and competently assess risks associated with Display Screen Equipment (DSE) and workstations in the workplace.

The primary aim is to ensure that both employers and employees understand their responsibilities under relevant Australian work health and safety regulations, and are able to apply best practices to promote health, safety, comfort, and productivity when using computers, monitors, laptops, and other screen-based devices.

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:

• Identify common risks and hazards associated with DSE use.
• Conduct basic ergonomic assessments of workstations.
• Apply correct workstation setup principles to prevent strain, fatigue, and injury.
• Understand the legal and organisational requirements related to DSE use, including breaks, posture, and equipment adjustments.
